About Chiel S
Chiel S is a respected house DJ known for the soulful, funky and sexy style of his live sets, as well as his remarkable technical skills. Over the last years, he performed together with the biggest names in the world of house music… Dave Clarke, Fedde le Grand, Roog, Gregor Salto, Laidback Luke, Lucien Foort, Erick E, Ferry Corsten, Tom de Neef and so the list goes on.
Chiel was born in 1984 in the Netherlands and he resides in Nijmegen. His career kicked off in 2001, when he started doing live sets at internet radio stations (Basic Beats Radio, Radio Pluss Norway, Favorite FM). It gave him the opportunity to show people his skills and his style. When people started to describe Chiel’s style as “funky feeling†he decided to release a monthly mix that contained the hottest house tracks of the moment. He named it “the Funky Feelingâ€. As we speak today, every month many people from all over the world download Chiel’s mix as they want to be sparkled by that “Funky Feelingâ€.
In 2005 the Nijmegen native competed in the prestigious “Gelderse DJ contest†where the most talented house DJ’s battled against each other for the first price. Chiel S won the contest as the jury was stunned by his creativity and flawless technique.
Through the years Chiel did gigs in famous club in the Netherlands such as Doornroosje and the Matrixx, where he has been performing for over 3 years now. Over these years, Chiel also performed for the Matrixx during the yearly “Nijmeegse Zomerfeestenâ€. In the 2006 edition of this event he rocked the crowd at the “Valkhof Affaireâ€, where he put down a spectacular set in front of an outrageous crowd.
In the near future Chiel has plans on releasing his own tracks, as he collaborated with house producer Ian Granda who also resides in Nijmegen.
