About Oshunmare

Oshunmare, normally based in NIjmegen, The Netherlands. Born in 1984, female. Loves music, people and lots of other things about life. Has been producing music since somewhere around 2006. Been out of production since 2008 and started again 2010. Tracks are under construction.
Im a big fan of IDM, but my interests go out to all sorts of music, electronic aswell as analog.
Am interested in breakcore, hyperrythm, jazz, soul, classical, singasongwriter, 8bit, britrock, motown, dubstep, aquacrunk, techno, ambient, psychedelic. But love inspiring, melancholic tunes in combination with glitchie, frantic, schizofrenic beats.
Havent been able to produce last mentioned yet though.. melancholic tunes are me most of the time, especially in my old tracks.
Now i want to combine vocals with hardware and software produced music. Still learning alot, which is FUN!

Why Oshunmare?

In Yoruba mythology, Oshunmare (also Oshumare, Oxumare) is a serpent which is believed to create the rainbow¹, both male and female, and is a symbol of creation, human procreation and link between the world of the mundane and that of the ancestors.
